TheLogoDesigns (www.thelogodesigns.com), a 13 years old logo designing company, is one of SEO Guys’ projects. Since its inception in the year 1999, it has maintained a good reputation among its clients and customers.

TheLogoDesigns created its website in the year 2006. Down the years, it has carved a niche. Still something was missing – a strong web presence and search engine ranking. The reason – it was never optimized for the web for any keyword. Finally, the task was assigned to the SEO engineers of SEO Guys, who took up the challenging task on December, 2011.

We started our SEO work with full force and aimed to bring TheLogoDesigns website in top spot rankings on SERPs. Our efforts started showing results from February 6, 2012 and we started developing rank for the website.  Our development curve was promising because in the subsequent months, TheLogoDesigns ranks kept pushing towards top slot rankings. Here’s a look at the progress we made on the optimization of the targeted keywords on Google’s search results:

  • On March’ 2012, TheLogoDesigns site got ranked in the third page
  • On April’ 2012, TheLogoDesigns site got ranked in the second page
  • For the months of July’ 2012 and August’ 2012, TheLogoDesigns site got ranked in the first page

All through the months of July and August, the site steadily maintained its first page ranking. Needless to say, it brought a smile of satisfaction, which was not to last for long.

After a fortnight, the site’s ranking took a downturn. The site slipped down the first page on September 5, 2012 for the very first time. And it kept on falling. The behavioral pattern of search engine rankings was very weird with frequent and severe fluctuations in search rankings. On October 3, 2012 – there was a drastic downfall followed by massive fluctuation in site’s ranking. For instance, targeted keyword(s) fell out of top 700 ranks on one day, followed by an abrupt bounce back to 70s in the next couple of days – and again vanished the next day, and so on… Such insane fluctuations continued to keep each one of us here, on tenterhooks until the SEO managers discovered the possible root of the problem through expert analysis.

Bingo! It might be a server problem. Probably the server security system was blocking the bots. However, this was just a guess which got clarified when the TLD managers told us that they had changed the server on August 20, 2012. There wasn’t any notification about the change to SEO Guys.

Things got more transparent with a notification from Google Inc. stating: “Googlebot can’t access your site…

SEO manager’s expert analysis hit the bull’s eye ! It was discovered that the site was hosted on a Singapore based server, whose security protocol was highly strict and stringent, to the extent that it blocked Google bots to crawl the site. Now, it was clear why the ranking of the site suffered. For the fault of irrational acts of the server engineers to strengthen up server security system, we faced the brunt of rank fall in spite of our effective SEO strategies.

Our search engineers at SEO Guys are currently working on addressing and fixing up this issue…

Work is in progress. Stay tuned…
